Matrix Architects, The Leader in Hospice Design

Matrix is a full-service architectural firm with over a decade of experience specializing in Hospice design from coast to coast. Since our founding in 1993, Matrix has become the unmatched designer of Hospice inpatient facilities.

James Faulkner, President and Founder, began his hospice involvement in 1986 as project architect for one of the country's first hospice inpatient facilities, Hospice of Dayton, a 28-bed acute hospice facility. The movement so intrigued him that Faulkner founded Matrix Architects to bring hospice design to the forefront. The firm's first project was the $8.3 million, 42-bed addition to Hospice of Dayton.

Since we've embraced so many Hospice opportunities, we've acquired a unique insight into the philosophy and culture of Hospice that extends into the specialized, original design for which we're acclaimed. We've been integrally involved in the nationwide development of codes, zoning and licensure issues relating directly to hospice facilities and continually work to improve our designs, so that every element centers on the creative, functional and comfortable care of your patients and families.
